Fungal Matter is the theme of the annual Spring Benefit—inviting patrons to support the efforts of the Royal Botanic Gardens. Fungi have adopted the most widely varied modes of life, ranging from cooperation and mutual benefit, as with the lichens, via the exploitation of dead plants, through to parasitism on insects. The benefit dinner will consist of three psilocybin-infused courses with special guest accommodations for comfort and safety.

This assignment went through many iterations and interpretations of different posters styles. After the initial explorations, further attempts were made to combine paradoxical concepts to create a hybrid direction. The hybrid concepts were pushed further to create a "Super Hybrid," which eventually resulted in the latest iteration. The following drafts were the previous stages of the final poster.
